Obit For William Riley Bryant

Text Riley Bryant, a pioneer citizen of this county and a resident of the Golden locality, died at his home there Saturday of dropsy, at the age of 83 years. He had been sick for two years.

Funeral services were held and interment made at Golden Sunday, Sept 4th.

He was born at Van Buren, Missouri, March 25, 1844. During the Civil War he enlisted in the Union army, serving in Co. D. 5th Missouri cavalry. A number of men from McDonald. Barry, Newton Lawrence Dade and Greene counties served in this same company.

He had lived in Barry county for 5 years and was one of the county’s best citizens. Mrs. Bryant died 12 years ago.

He is survived by four sons, Mach of Idaho, Albert of Joplin, Harve and H. C. Bryant of Golden.
