Text | Lois Ellen Browning, 93, of Washburn, died yesterday, September 18, at St. John's Hospital-Cassville. Mrs. Browning was born May 10, 1910, in Washburn, the daughter of Hiram P. and Florence (McGlothlin) Edens. She was employed at Washburn Farmers Exchange, worked as a cook at Washburn School, and worked at a clothing factory in Monett. She and her husband Chester owned and operated Seligman Laundry for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seligman. She married Edward Newton Chappel in 1930, and he preceded her in death March 2, 1964. She married Chester Ward Browning in June of 1967, and he preceded her in death January 8, 1998. Survivors include one son, two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow, September 20, at Fohn Chapel in Cassville with Rev. Bob Scott officiating. Burial will be in King Cemetery in Washburn under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, September 19, at the funeral home. |
