Text | Walter Dennis Browning, 76 years old, died at 12:15 o’clock yesterday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Omer Scott, southwest of Pierce City. Born in Barry county, April 18, 1881, Mr. Browning had farmed in the Pierce City and Stella communities all of his life. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eller Jane Browning, whom he married in 1907; his daughter, Mrs. Scott; two brothers, Ed Browning of Carterville and R. R. Browning of Osawatamie, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Laura P. Russell of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Lula Beaver of Webb City; and a grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 0’clock Sunday afternoon in the Jolly church, southwest of Pierce City. The Rev. George Kelley of Joplin will officiate. Burial will be in church cemetery under direction of Wilks Brothers funeral home of Pierce City. |
