Text | Annie Elizabeth Spahr was born April 21, 1874 Passed away at her home near Exeter, July 11, 1944, age 70 years, one month and 21 days. She was united in marriage to William Grant Browning, Oct 4, 1894. To this union five children were born. They are William Elmer and James Lee of the home; Mrs. Viva Jewell Thompson of Exeter; Chas Fredrick of Ft. Smith, Ark., and George Ralph of Cassville. Her husband, William Grant Browning, passed away, January 12, 1911. She is survived by her children, one brother, W. F. Spahr of Monett; one half-brother, George Leonard of Farmington, Mo., and one half sister, Mrs. Sarah Cameron of Webb City; also the following grandchildren; Sgt. Stephen C. Thompson of the U.S. Army; Roy Newton Thompson of Exeter; Helen Louise Browning of Cassville, and many her relatives, She had a host of friends and neighbors and held in high esteem by those who knew her. She professed faith in Christ many years ago, and united with the Baptist Church. At the time of her death, she was a faithful and devoted member of the Exeter Baptist Church. She had been in failing health for several years. She was given every care and attention that her children could render to her. Funeral services where held at the Exeter Baptist church on Tuesday afternoon, June 13th by Rev. Chas. Vanzandt. Burial in the Maplewood Cemetery, by the side of her husband, with the Koon Funeral Service in charge. Pall bearers were Otis Eden, Ernest Lee, Cliff Stubblefield, Chas Reed, Monroe Gurley and Lee Cuthrell, - Contributed. |
