Text | Leroy Dale "Buck" Brooks, 73, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, Cassville.
He was born May 5, 1939, in Cassville, the son of Oscar and Vicey (Ennis) Brooks. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Moore and to this union four children were born. On May 19, 1996, he was united in marriage to Anna Mae (Jay) Taylor, who survives. Additional survivors include: three sons, Mark Brooks and his companion, Sherry, Allen Brooks and his wife, Dortha, and David Brooks and his wife, Judy, all of Washburn; one daughter, Rebecca Kirkland and her husband, Darrell, of Taneyville; two stepsons, Fred Taylor and his wife, Alice, of Springfield, and Dennis Taylor, of Galena; one stepdaughter, Nellie Howard and her husband, Paul, of Springfield; one brother, Royal Brooks and his wife, Lucille, of Cassville; one sister, Janice Ray and her husband, Cliff, of Independence, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 23 step-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and six sisters. He received his education in Cassville. For several years, he was a plumber in Colorado, before returning to Cassville, where he continued plumbing work in Missouri and Arkansas. After his retirement, he helped Calvin Holman on his farm and also Brice Cassity in his fruit orchard. Graveside services were held Monday at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. |
