| Text | Raymond Lee Brite, 87, Purdy, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home after a sudden illness. Mr. Brite was born Aug. 16, 1898, in the McDowell area. He was president of First State Bank of Purdy until retiring in 1965. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer for more than 30 years and as an usher for 50 years. He was a member and treasurer of the Purdy Senior Citizens Club. He married Lola May McPhail on Feb. 22, 1924, at Cassville. She died May 7, 1983. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. David Winfrey will officiate. Burial will be in Purdy Cemetery, under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. |
