Text | Obit#1 - Mrs. Houstan [Houston] Bradley northeast of town passed peacefully away Thursday morning, Nov. 19, 1914. Death was due to catarrh of the stomach. The deceased was a daughter of the late William M. Black and was born northeast of town in 1856. In 1877 she was married to Houstan Bradley. To this union were born three children, Charles of Ray County, Arthur and William of near Cassville. She is also survived by three brothers and a sister, Wm. C. Black of Washburn, Taylor and J. M. Black of this city, and Mrs. H. Prentice of Oklahoma. Interment was made Friday at the Oak Hill Cemetery following funeral services conducted by Rev. E. W. Love. Mrs. Bradley was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed the respect of her acquaintance. She was an excellent citizen and lived a useful life. The members of the family have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends and acquaintance in their hour of sorrow. Obit#2 - Oak Ridge News: Chas. Bradley and wife of North Missouri came in Nov. 17 to be at the bedside of his mother, Mrs. W. H. Bradley, who recently died at home 1 1/2 miles east of Black School house. Mrs. Bradley was about 59 years old. She was born about one mile west of where she died and lived here all her life, except a few years when the family was at Rolla, Mo., during the war. She was a noble woman and a good neighbor. She leaves three boys, Charley of North Missouri, Arthur and William of this vicinity, three brothers, W. C. Black of Washburn and Taylor and J. M. Black of Cassville, besides a grief stricken husband. Funeral services were held at the home in charge of Rev. Love. Interment was made at he Cassville Cemetery. To the family and lonely husband we extend our sincere sympathy. Research Note: Margaret was. born 19 Feb 1858 to William M. Black and Jane Sellers Miller Black. She married William H. Bradley 23 Dec 1877. In 1860 in Barry Co., MO, was Wm. Black and his family in household 1069, in Flat Creek Twp., and he was listed as age 55, born in TN. His wife Jane was age 48, born in TN. Children were given as Wm. C. age 23, born AL; John, age 20, born in AL; Samuel, age 18, born in TN; Eliza, age 14, born TN; Taylor, age 10, born TN; Monroe, age 8, born TN; Margaret 3, born MO, and Julia, age 12, born MO. Next door in house 1070 was Jacob Black, age 26, born TN, and wife Mary J., age 24, born KY. One child was in the household, Eliza J., age 1, born in MO. Located at Oakhill Cemetery, Cassville, MO, was a stone for Margaret M. Bradley, born Feb. 19, 1856 died Nov. 19, 1914, wife of W. H. Bradley. On the same stone was W. H. Bradley, born Oct 26, 1852 and died Feb 14, 1924. In Barry Co., MO, 1880, William Black was listed as a 70 year old farmer. He stated that he was born in TN and that his father was born in VA and mother in TN. Living in the house was Houston Bradley, age 25, son-in-law, who was working on the farm. He was born in MO and reported his parents as born in TN. Margaret M., was given as daughter, age 23, born in MO with TN born parents. Charlie, a son was also listed. He was age 1 and was born in MO.
