| Text | Robert Boyd, 85, died at 8:30 pm Wednesday at the South Barry County Hospital in Cassville after a lengthy illness. He was born March 9, 1886, near Purdy. He was a retired farmer, and he had lived in the Purdy area all his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, two daughters; a son, a brother, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Saturday at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. The Rev. Alvin Bennett and the Rev. Virgil Beck II officiated. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
