| Text | Funeral services for James Ralph (Dan) Boyd, 47, a former Purdy resident who died in Wichita, Ks., Tuesday night were held at 2 pm Friday in the Bennett-Wormington Chapel with Rev. Alvin Bennett and Rev. Virgil Beck officiating. Music included two solo numbers by Gene Linebarger, "I Won't Have To Cross Jordan Alone" and "Peace In The Valley" and a solo by Mrs. Sandra Powell, "When We See Christ", accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Joy Plumlee. Pallbearers were Raymond Lewis, Gerald Preddy, John Henbest, Adrian Cameron, Orlan Riggs and Gene Broshears. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under direction of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home. |
