Text | Obit #1 - D.A. Box died at this home near Exeter Thursday morning, January 17,1929,after only a few hours illness with acute indigestion. He was born near Cassville June 15,1859 being at his death 69 years,7 months and 2 days old.
He was first married to Martha Higgs. They were the parents of six children, two of whom died when young; After the death of his first wife he was again married to Mrs. Malinda Linebarger on February 4, 1917. He leaves his wife and four children who are Clarence Box, Mrs. Jim Graber of Pierce City, Lester Box of Webb City and Mrs. Sam Montgomery of Bartlesville Okla., also several grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters. He was converted while you. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist church and lived an honest and upright life. Funeral services were conducted Friday by Rev. Chas Vanzandt of Exeter at the Clark school house and burial was made in the Clark cemetery. Those from Monett who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Linebarger, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lingebarger, Carl, Imogene, Mary and Walter Bert Linebarger, Delma Lassiter, Loren Downs, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Maynes - Monett Times Obit #2 - Dallas A. Box, one of the communities highly respected citizens, died at his home five miles northwest of Exeter early Thursday morning, after a few hours of indigestion. Dallas A. Box was born at Cassville, Missouri, June 15, 1859 and died January 17, 1829. Age 69 years and 7 months. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and lived a devoted Christian life. He was married to Martha Caroline Higgs in 1881. To this union six children were born, two having died in infancy. The surviving children are: Mrs. Stella Graber, of Pierce City, Mrs. Annie Montgomery, of Bartlesville, Okla., Clarence of Pierce City and Lester of Web City. His first wife having passed away many years ago, he was married in 1907 to Mrs. Malinda Linebarger, who survives him. Funeral services were conducted at the Clark cemetery by Rev. Vanzandt. The body was laid to rest under the direction of the Pogue Undertaking Company of Wheaton. Researcher Note: In the obit that is listed for Dallas A.
