Text | Hilma Mae Bowman, 78, of Exeter, passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, in her home.
She was born Sept.14, 1931, in Shell Knob, the daughter of J.C. "Curly" and Elsie (Epperly) Cooper. On Feb. 24, 1950, in Columbus, Kan., she was united in marriage to Daniel "D. A." Bowman, who survives. Additional survivors include: four children, David Bowman and his wife, Diane, of Cassville, Cheryl Lee, of Exeter, Dale Bowman and Coleen, of Exeter, and Donna Edie and her husband, Rick, of Exeter; one sister, Bertha Pippin, of Seligman; one brother, J.C. Cooper, of Wentworth; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson. She received her education in Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School in 1950. For a few years she resided in Arlington Heights, Ill., but returned to Barry County, where she spent most of her life. She was a member of Mill Street Church of Christ, Cassville, and had been attending Calvary Baptist Church, Exeter. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter. |
