Text | Erwin A. Boothe, 79, of Wheaton, died July 16 at his home following a long illness. Mr. Boothe was born December 2, 1919, in Blain County, Oklahoma, the son of Henery Clark and Mattie Ella Walker Boothe. He moved to Purdy in 1960 from Texas. He was a cattle farmer and owned and operated Boothe TV Repair in Wheaton, retiring in 1982, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Wheaton and was a Baptist. He married Jewell L. Hopper on June 28, 1941, in Clovis, New Mexico. Survivors include one son, of Purdy; three daughters, three brothers, one sister, nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers. Graveside services were 2 p.m. yesterday, July 19, at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton with Rev. Joe Wogoman officiating under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home of Wheaton. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of America. |
