Text | Bernice Bland, 43, died this morning at Rogers Memorial Hospital. She was born June 23, 1931, at Monett, Mo. She came to Bentonville in 1946 with her parents, and graduated from Bentonville High in 1949. She drove a school bus for the Bentonville school system for five years and was employed at the time of her death by the Rogers school system as a school bus driver.
She was very active in bowling in Northwest Arkansas winning honors for the Aileen Beauty Shop and Venetian Inn team in Tontitown. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bentonville. She is survived by her husband, James Bland of the home; one son; two daughters; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Lyons, Rogers; three brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Bentonville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville.
