Text | Ola Leona Blackstock, 89, of Monett, died yesterday, June 3, at Cox Monett Hospital. Mrs. Blackstock was born January 14, 1918, in Sayre, Oklahoma, the daughter of Otto and Nora G. Ware Lamb. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Monett. She married Wayne C. Blackstock in May of 1926 in Walters, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death August 30, 1989. Survivors include three sons, two daughters, one brother, of Fredrick, Oklahoma; four sisters, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, Troy Blackstock; two brothers, Lonnie Lamb and Homer Lamb; two sisters, Pauline Carson and Mildred Sallee; and one grandchild. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Buchanan Chapel in Monett with Rev. Mark Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in Calton Cemetery near Monett under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Monett Senior Citizens Center. |
