| Text | W. E. Hankins informed us Thursday, that Mrs. John Birkes of near Butterfield, dropped dead Wednesday at her home with no one at home but some of her children. She left a husband and and six children to mourn her death. The remains were laid to reset at Mt. Pleasant church with funeral services by M. J. Combs. She was highly respected by all her neighbors.
