Text | Phyllis F. Bird, 91, of Shell Knob, died at 8 p.m. December 3 at Primrose Health Care Center in Springfield following a long illness. Mrs. Bird was born December 8, 1908, in Niles, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Oliver and Effie Margaret (Foster) Shultice. She was a graduate of Kansas State University and an associate member of Sunflower chapter of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was an active volunteer with the Red Cross before retiring in 1968. She married Paul F. Bird on October 23, 1931, in Topeka, Kansas, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include one sister of Overland Park, Kansas; three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Beth Peck. Graveside services were 10 a.m. today, December 8, at Viola Cemetery with Rev. Judith Lloyd officiating under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Shell Knob. |
