Text | James D., son of the late John and Dicy Biggs, was born near Rocky Comfort, Mo., May 10, 1874 and departed this life in Greeley, Colo., July 16, 1955 at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 6 days. On Oct. 16, 1899 he was united in marrige with Edna Ann Love. To this union one daughter and two sons were born. His wife preceded him in death July 5, 1923. He was converted during a revival meeting conducted by Rev. CF Siler at Cross Roads Church. He was later united with the Properity Baptist Church at Rocky Comfort of which he was a member at th time of his death. The greater part of his life was spent in Barry and McDonald counties. About 29 yers ago he moved to Colorado and for the past 16 years had made his home with his son, Vernon. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Beaulah Stipp, of Greely, Colo., two sons, Bill, of La Salle, Colo., and Vernon, of Greeley; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Minnie Taliferrio of tulsa; two brothers, Quincy of Florida, and William of Portland, Ore., and many other distant relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, July 2o at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. CF Siler and Rev. Coy Holmes at the Rocky Comfort Baptist Church. Burial was made in the church cemetery under direction of the McQueen Funeral Home. |
