| Text | Dorothy J. Beck, 93, of Cassville, died August 27 at St. John's Hospital-Cassville. Mrs. Beck was born October 16, 1910, in Palestine, Texas, the daughter of Ross and Olive Ericson Johnson. She received her bachelor's degree in education in 1961 at Southwest Missouri State in Springfield and taught school 12 years in Purdy and also other rural schools in Barry County. She taught Sunday school at New Hope Baptist Church and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cassville. She married Virgil Beck on December 27, 1930, in Bentonville, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death December 21, 1979. Survivors include one son, two daughters, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby; and one great grandchild. Services were 11 a.m. today, August 30, at Williamson Chapel in Cassville with Rev. John Duncan and Rev. James Weaver officiating. Burial was in Horner Cemetery in Cassville under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville. Memorials may be made to the Cassville Senior Citizens Center. |
