Text - Outline | Funeral rites for Morris Bayless were held at 2:30 o?clock at the Baptist church in Exeter Thursday afternoon May 17, Rev. Charles Vanzandt offered prayer and read the obituary of Mr. Bayless. Rev. C.M. Smith preached the sermon from the text which had been selected by the deceased sometime before he passed away. C.C. Chandler, Cass Jeffries, U. F. Hutchens, E.K. Horine, C.H. Hadley, Glenn Truhitte and Dr. E.L. Blankenship were the pall bearers. Marjorie Mae McNabb, Margaret Jane and Ruth Parrish, (grand daughters) Atta Mae and Oneta Hankins, Wilma and Wanda Gray, and Imogene Henbest were flower girls. Many beautiful flowers covered the casket. Burial was made in the Maplewood cemetery near Exeter, under direction of the Horine-Culver Funeral Service.
