Text | Alvin Adam Bartkoski passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2002. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2002, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, where a Rosary will be heard at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 2, at Holy Rosary Church, 22781 Metcalf. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Knights of Columbus at Holy Rosary Church, Wea, KS. Alvin was born December 13, 1916, to Frank and Catherine (Golkoski) Bartkoski in Pierce City, MO. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Air Force. He married his childhood sweetheart, Clara Staponski, in 1947. Alvin retired from General MotorsFairfax in 1978 after 32 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 31, the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus, Nocturnal Adoration Society, and the Holy Name Society. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Clara, daughter, Sharon Patti, son-in-law, Victor Patti, and two grandchildren, Amber and Blake. He also leaves a brother, Henry Bartkoski and sisters, Rosalie Bartkoski and Loretta Globoke, as well as many nieces and nephews.
