| Text - Outline | Mr. and Mrs. Mon Barnett of Wheaton have been informed by the War Department that their son, Billy Barnett was killed in action in Germany on February 9th. They have another son, Sgt. Harold Barnett who has been a German prisoner of war for one year. It is said that Billy had been given only seventeen weeks of training before he was sent overseas and after being sent over sent to the front battle lines. He was in the infantry and received his training at Camp Robinson, Ark. Mon Barnett, the father of Billy and Harold has been blind for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Barnett live alone. Billy was one of Wheaton’s fine young men. His family and friends are deeply grieved over the news of his death. |
