Huston Banks, old time and native citizen of this county, residing in Ash township, died last Saturday morning, following extending illness over the past several months, with lung trouble. He was 66 year old and had lived on the farm where he died for the past 42 years. He was an extensive land owner in that section and was one of the county’s successful farmers. He was a high standing and well known farmer and had many friends. He was married to Miss Allene Ellis, November 8, 1888. To this union was born six children. The widow and four children survive. The children are Mrs. Ollie Relethford and Rice Banks of Garfield, Ark., Mrs. Gusta Roller of Seligman and Bryan Banks at home. Seven grandchildren also survive, two brothers and five sisters, Johnny Banks and Montie Banks of Washburn; Mrs. Lucky Taylor of Cassville; Mrs. Alice Potts of Garfield, Ark., Mrs. Frank Cox of Eldorado, Kan., Mrs. Bill Cox of Garfield, Ark.; and Mrs. Della Hatfield of Mountain View, Mo. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, July 2 from the Banks home, conducted by Rev. Elbert Packwood of Exeter. Burial was in the Dent cemetery under the direction of the Blankenship funeral service of Exeter. |
