Text | Lorena Margaret (Carter) Ball, age 97 of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville, Missouri. She was born December 17, 1913 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of Reverend James Allen Carter and Artie Elizabeth (Cordell) Carter. On October 26, 1928, Eureka Spring, she was united in marriage to Edward Ball, who preceded her in death on August 25, 1979. Also preceding her in death were her parents: two sons, Ellery and Ellis Ball: two daughters, Annabelle, in infancy and Ettaree Louise (Ball) Warren; five brothers, (twins) Virgil and Spurgeon, Benny, Ellis and Levi Carter; two sisters, Minnie Crawford and Edith Ball; three grandchildren; one great grandchild and one great-great-grandchild. Surviving are three sons, two daughters, one daughter-in-law, two sisters-in-law, thirty-two grandchildren, sixty-two great grandchildren, seventy-three great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren. Lorena grew up in the Roaring River area, receiving her education at Roaring River School. She was a life-long resident of Barry County and had been a long-time member of Roaring River Baptist Church. Upon moving to Seligman in 1979, she began attending Rock Springs Baptist Church.
