Gene Baker, Jr., 17, of Monett, died at 10:15 p.m. on Friday, June 20,
west of Purdy, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Mr. Baker was a student at Pierce City High School who played football, basketball, and ran track. He also worked at the Monett Plaza 5 Cinema. He was born on November 15, 1985 in Drumwright, Oklahoma. Mr. Baker lived with his father, Terry G. Baker, Sr., of Monett, and he survives. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 23, at the Buchanan Chapel with Larry Schiller officiating. Burial will be at the Monett I.O.O.F.
