Lula E. Baker, 86, 1414 S. 4th, Rogers, died Friday at a local nursing home. Born Dec. 24, 1887, at Lampases, Tex., she was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter of the home; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside service was held today at 10 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Mo. Burial was under the direction of Callison Funeral Home of Rogers.
Research Note: Daughter of George Washington Ervin and Alice (Wynne) Ervin. Moved to Barry County, Missouri, in 1890. Married Grover Cleveland Baker in 1917. Mother of three children. Lost one son in WW II: Ervin Nathaniel Baker was aboard the US Submarine Grayling, lost off Manila Bay in Sept., 1943. |
