Text | Charley Junior Baker, 74, of Exeter, died May 28 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Mr. Baker was born December 26, 1929, in Mineral Springs, the son of Evert and Mable Owings Baker. He was a graduate of Cassville High School and attended Southwest Missouri State College. He worked for Glen Hall and Pet Milk. In 1968 he opened Baker Bookkeeping in Shell Knob and sold the business in 1981. He worked for the Barry County Commission, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a former member of the Cassville Chamber of Commerce and Cassville Rotary Club. He married Donna Coffey on May 20, 1950, in Ridgley. Survivors include one son, one daughter, two brothers, two sisters, one grandchild, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Morse; and two sisters, Dorothy and Lois. Services were 10 a.m. today, June 1, at Fohn Chapel in Cassville with Rev. Mark Baker officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville. |
