Text | ARTICLE # 1 - Thursday, May 2, 1912 - In the death of Mrs. Samuel Bailey of Clio, that vicinity lost one of its best citizens. She was 55 years old and was one of the many victims of the dreaded disease consumption, which takes so many persons to a premature grave. She leaves a husband and seven children, five sons and two daughters. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Ennes east of Cassville and the body laid to rest in the Clio Cemetery. ARTICLE # 2 - Thursday, May 9, 1912 - Clio News: April 30, the death angel visited our community and claimed for its victim the wife of Samuel Bailie. She was a victim of consumption, was sick four months. She bore her sickness with patience, waiting for the end to come. Susan was 55 years old joined the M. E. Church when very young and remained faithful until death. She leaves a husband, five sons and two daughters to mourn her loss. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Ennes of near Cassville after which she was laid to rest in the Zion Cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
