Text | ARTICLE # 1 -- After many years of intense suffering from dropsy, rheumatism and other diseases Rhoda Babb, daughter of the late Rev. Samuel and Elizabeth Babb passed away Thursday evening of last week at the home of her son, E. B. Babb, in Washburn. The deceased was born in Hancock County, Tenn., about 67 years ago and came with her parents to Missouri in 1879. Her parents settled near Washburn and later lived in Cassville where she grew to womanhood. Early in life she became a member of the Methodist church and had lived a consistent member until death. She is also survived by four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Sarah Lowder of Cassville, Joe Babb of Grant, Okla., Mrs. Mattie Wallen of Fairland, Okla., Mrs. Tina Bradley of Miami, Okla., M. B. Babb of Cassville. Funeral service were conducted Friday afternoon at the Corinth Church and interment made in the Corinth Cemetery.
ARTICLE # 2 -- February 13, 1913 - Washburn News: Died, at the home of her son, Emmett Babb, 1 1/4 miles north of town, Rhoda Babb, Feb 6, 1913. Burial was made at Corinth Cemetery. She was member of the Methodist Church and an old resident of Barry County having lived in Cassville a number of years. She was a great suffer but bore it with Christian fortitude. |
