| Text | Mildred G. Atwell, 88, of Monett, died at 2:55 a.m. February 19 at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett.
Mrs. Atwell was born March 28, 1911, in Stone County, the daughter of O. A. and Lona Carrie Casto Franklin. She lived most of her life in Monett, was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Monett and the Frisco Loyal Star. She married Vernon M. Atwell on December 16, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, and he survives. She was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Franklin; and one sister, Maxine Dummitt. Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow, February 22, at Buchanan Chapel in Monett with Rev. Jean Latshaw and Rev. David Troublefield officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, February 21, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church or Monett Senior Citizens Center. |
