Obit For Jessie (Burton) Atkisson
Headline Obituary
Text Mrs. Jessie Atkisson, wife of Robert Atkisson, died Thursday morning of last week at the Mayfield sanitarium at St. Louis, where she had been taken a few before her treatment.

The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Burton and was born January 9, 1874. In early life she became a member of the Christian Church and was an energetic worker in the course. A short time after her marriage to Robert Atkisson in 1898, her health began to fail and for the past two years she had been a constant sufferer. Everything known made of science was done for her, but it became evident that her life was slowly __bbing away. Upon consultation it was decided to take her to St. Louis where an operation was performed. AT first the indications were hopeful, but only for a short time. The relapse came and she sank into that sleep that knows no earthly awakening.

The remains were brought to Cassville, Friday morning and the funeral services held at 8:30 p.m. the Cassville Band of which the grief stricken husband, was a member attend the services and escorted the cortège to the church and from there to the cemetery. Rev. Cocharan delivered a beautiful eulogy to the memory of the departed.

The deceased was well known and dearly loved. She was an estimable lady of rare attainments. She leaves a husband and little daughter to mourn her loss.
