Text | Robert M. Arnold, 88, of Purdy, died at 7:50 p.m. March 5 at Missouri Veteran's Home in Mt. Vernon following a long illness.
Mr. Arnold was born January 12, 1917, in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, the son of Arthur and Matilda Vowel Arnold. He was retired from the Coast Guard and a Navy veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He married Betty Stubbs on November 11, 1945, in Columbus, Kansas. Survivors include two daughters, six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, March 8, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Arnold Ray Evans and Rev. Danny Evans officiating. Burial will be in Arnhart Cemetery near Purdy under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, March 7, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. |
