Text | Mary Amanda Arnold, 93, of Carthage, formerly of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in St. Luke's Nursing Center, Carthage.
She was born April 11, 1915, in Bristow, OK, and was a daughter of Cecil Floyd and Lillie May (Catron) Niccum. On Jan. 30, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Frank Arnold, who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Glendene Estes, and a brother, Hiram Niccum. Survivors include: three sons, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She graduated from Bristow High School in 1935. She moved to Cassville from San Bernardino, Calif., in 1951. She was very active in the Cassville First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Triple L Club and taught Sunday school a number of years. She was also a member of the Good Neighbor Club and past president of the PTA in Cassville. Graveside services were held Saturday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. |
