Text | Dorothy Arnold, 82, of Monett, MO, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett, MO.
She was born in Ridgeley, MO, April 15, 1925, the daughter of Cleo and Ada England. She married Warren Arnold in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on August 25, 1944, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Arnold; one son, David Arnold of Monett, and 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, her daughters and one sister of Monett. She had eight grandchildren and some great-grandchildren. Dorothy was a loving and dedicated member of Faith Church since 1973. She sewed her life into the ministry of helping other people. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothes for her family and church family for many years. She upholstered furniture, cut down her own Christmas trees, and loved picking up walnuts every fall. Dorothy was a Navy wife for 20 years, having each of her four children in a different part of the United States. She worked at Sarajo Garment Factory in Monett for 10 years before retiring. Many nieces, nephews and long time friends rejoice in her life. She loved everyone and was loved by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, at 10 a.m. at Faith Church, two miles west of Monett off of Highway 60, Rev. Danny Evans and Rev. Arnold Ray Evans officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, MO. |
