Text | On the 12th of October at 2 o'clock p.m., death made its way into the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnaud and claimed their loving son, , age 13 years, 9 months and 17 days.
Louis was a child of more than ordinary ability, his short life was open full of endeavor and ambition. As a student he was industrious, energetic, and a hard worker, having completed the common school course in his 13th year. As one of the strong members of his class and was a student in the Monett High School, when stricken with typhoid fever. All was done that loving hands could do but human skill was no avail, after two weeks of suffering the spirit of the noble little fellow took its flight to a brighter home, he bore his suffering with the quiet fortitude of a hero. How sad to see a youth of promise taken away in the morning of life when the first miles post on the highway of life is reached. While father, mother, brothers, sister and friends are bowed down by this cloud of distress, the cloud has a silver lining for we sorrow not as those who have no hope. Louis has only gone on before and one by one will will him over the dark river. Funeral services were conducted at the Waldensian Church by Rev. J. G. Knotter, Friday afternoon, and the body laid to rest in the cemetery near by. His Former Teacher. |
