Text | Alfred Oscar Arfstrom, 77, of Pierce City, died at 3:45 p.m. yesterday, April 19, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Arfstrom was born July 6, 1922, in Pierce City, the son of Oscar Anselm and Minnie Octavia Jones Arfstrom. He was a lifetime area resident. He retired from Wells Aluminum in Monett in 1987 after 22 years of employment. He was also a farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Hobbs-Anderson Post 91 Monett American Legion, past president of the Missouri Horse, Mule and Pony Drivers Association, and was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Monett. He married Dora Louise Pryor on June 30, 1946, in Columbus, Kansas. The body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Buchanan Chapel in Monett with Rev. John Johnson officiating under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home. |
