| Text | J. A. Appelquist, 78, of Springfield, formerly of Lawrence County, died at 9:05 p.m. April 11 in Springfield.
Mr. Appelquist was born May 18, 1920, in rural Barry County, the son of Anton M. and Helga Appelquist. He practiced law and served as prosecuting attorney for Lawrence County in 1959 and 1960. He had also served as chairman of the Lawrence County Republican Central Committee. Services were 1:30 p.m. yesterday, April 15, at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel in Springfield. |
