Obit For Mary (Clark) Antle
Headline MRS. MARY ANTLE WELL KNOWN EXETER LADY DIES
Text A pioneer Barry County woman, well known and highly respected, passed away later Tuesday evening at her home in Exeter, in the person of Mrs. Mary Antle. This excellent character had been bedfast several weeks and was a patient suffer. Had she lived until August 2, she would have been 99 years old. Death was attributed to infirmities of old age. This reputable character was born August 2, 1868 and reared in Carroll County, Ark., and came to Barry County at the age of 18 years, where she living until her passing.

In 1968 (incorrect date) she was married to William Antle to which the union eight children were born. Surviving Mrs. Antle are three sons, Horace, Alfonso, and Ed, and one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Bayless, all of Exeter; also three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Antle was devoted to her home, and was a wonderful mother and friend. She was converted and joined the Baptist Church at the age of 20.

Impressive funeral services were conducted by Rev. Charles VanZandt Thursday afternoon at the Baptist Church in Exeter, after which burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery there under the direction of Blankenship Funeral Service. The services were largely attended and many beautiful emblems were received by friends of this splendid woman and her family as an expression of the high esteem in which she was held. Mrs. Antle had many friends. A kind and loving mother, neighbor and friend, her every act was for good and she possessed that character of citizenship that any community could rightfully feel proud. The Democrat joins the many friends of the bereaved family in extending sympathy in their sad hour of bereavement.
