Text | James E. "Barney" Anderson, age 89, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011, at the home of his daughter.
He was born July 25, 1922, in Sparta, Missouri, the son of Charles and Mamie (Hall) Anderson. On August 22, 1941, in Ozark, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Byrdine Haile, who preceded him in death on June 21, 1995. Also preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Everett, Emmett and Darrell Anderson; five sisters, Norma Reed, Gladys Tabor, Lois Davis, Rosetta Calvin and Eunice Scribner and two grandsons, Brian Anderson and Jim Harrell. Barney, as most people knew him, grew up and received his education at Ava, Missouri. In 1947, he moved from Springfield, Missouri to Cassville, where he was a mechanic for JC Kenny Motors and then owned and operated Cassville Distributing. For thirty years he belonged to the Cassville Volunteer Fire Department and was Fire Chief several years. He was of the Baptist Faith. Some of his favorite pastimes were quail and turkey hunting, fishing and gardening. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 10, 2011, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend John Henry will conduct the services. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. |
