Following a long illness, J. W. Allison died at the home of his son, Ed Allison, on the J. E. Pilant farm, north of town, 11 miles, Jan 16, 1911. Four months Mr. Allison had been in ill health and gradually gave way to his complication of troubles. He was taken to the home of his son, Ed, that he might be well cared for. J. W. Allison was about 67 years of age and had lived about Cassville for many years where he was held in highest respect, being a quiet, upright industrious citizen and Christian gentleman. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Ennes and interment made in the Pilant Cemetery. The bereaved family consists of a wife, two sons, Edward, and Price, and two daughter, Mrs. Marion Hesse, east of town, and Mrs. Wm. Dodge of Monett ARTICLE # 2 Oak Ridge News: Mr. Allison died at the home of his son, Ed, of Black district, January 16, of heart trouble and general debility. Interment in Pilant Cemetery January 17.
