Research Note: Son of Hiram Allen Hardwick and Elizabeth Ellen Beswick. Albert F. Hardwick married Amanda E. Dickson on Sept. 30, 1875 in MO. No county was given but all the others on the same page were in Marion Co., MO. - Cassville Republican, May 13, 1909 - A. F. Hardwick died at his home near Golden May 8th. He was one of our most worthy citizens and a true and tried Christian. He leaves a dear companion and eight children to mourn his loss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Gilbert after which interment was made in the Viney cemetery before a large and sorrowing congregation. Her death certificate reads that James Dickson and Elizabeth Golden were her parents. Coronary embolus was listed as the cause of death. Minnie Cassetty, Wayne, MO, was the informant. - Cassville Democrat, January 1937 - Mrs. M. E. Hardwick, old time and respected near Golden citizen, died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. V. Cassetty of Wayne, following an illness extending over the past few years. This splendid character came to the Golden community from Kansas. In the year 1886. She leaves six children to mourn her passing, who are: Mrs. P. V. Cassetty, Wayne, Mrs. Nettie Tucker, Rogers, Ark., Mrs Lizzie Humbarger of Oregon, Sin (Sim) and Herbert Hardwick, both of Golden, and J. W., of Eureka Springs, Ark., all of whom were at the funeral except Mrs. Humbarger. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Walter Head of Golden, Friday afternoon, after which burial was in the Viney cemetery under direction of the Koon Funeral Service of Cassville. A large number of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the services. In addition to her children she also leaves 15 grand children and five great-grant-children. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church and was one of the country's best citizens. She had many friends and was a kind and loving mother, neighbor and friend. He was a farmer, age 19 and single. The cause of death was a gun shot wound - self inflicted. Russell Clay, Golden, MO, was the informant. - Cassville Republican, January 30, 1913 - Frank E. Hardwick, aged about 20 years, a well known young man of near Golden, shot and killed himself at his home early in the afternoon Thursday of last week. Despondency is believed to have been the cause. The young man had been ill from rheumatism for many months and it is supposed he sought death for relief. The shot took effect near the heart and death came instantly. Hardwick, 69, a lifelong resident of the Golden community, died at 2 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon, March 30, 1960 in St. Vincent's Hospital where he had been a patient for the past several days. Mr. Hardwick was born in golden on January 10, 1891. He was a retired farmer and blacksmith. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Wallace Fitzpatrick of Tulsa, Okla. and a brother, J. W. Hardwick of Cordell, Okla. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Golden Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde McCormack and Rev. Fay Harding officiating. Burial was in the Viney cemetery under direction of the Culver Funeral Home. Research Note: She was the daughter of Allie L. and Lena M. (Carnahan) Burge. She attended schools in Cordell, Oklahoma and completed high school in Pampa, Texas. Honey married Thomas P. Harris on November 11, 1948, in Paris, Texas. They lived in Vernon, Texas, until 1971 when they returned to Paris. Honey worked for the Paris, Texas Public Schools in Food Services as a cafeteria cook and retired in 1986. After Tom's death in 1991, Honey relocated to Golden, Missouri, to be closer to her younger sister, Mary. She was an active member of the Southern Baptist Church in Golden. After Mary's death in 2010, she moved again to Topeka, Kansas, to be closer to family. In addition to her husband and younger sister, she was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and two nieces. Henson, age 71, third married Alice Truman, age 53, on Nov. 18, 1919 in Carroll Co., AR. - Cassville Republican, Nov. 27, 1919 - The wedding bells were ringing in Golden last week when Dr. Henson and Mrs. Truman were united in marriage. They gave a party last Wednesday night at which all had a jolly time. We wish them many happy days. - Dr. H. C. Henson and Mrs. Alice Truman were quietly married by Rev. Haggard on the 18th. A large crowd gathered at their home Wednesday night. Good music was furnished by the string band and a treat of candy and apples by the Dr. - Cassville Democrat, April 4, 1930 - Dr. H. C. Henson, greatly beloved citizen, died at his home in Golden, Friday, at the age of 87 years. Dr. Henson was a native of this county and was born and reared n the Golden community. He had answered calls from the sick many, many years and had done much to relieve suffering humanity. He had been bedfast for the past 18 months. He leaves one son James of Eureka Springs, and two daughters, Mrs. John Andoe Fr., of Nowata Okla., and Mrs. John Patton of California. Funeral services were conducted in Golden, Saturday afternoon after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. Dr. Henson had traveled the entire east part of this county in responding to calls from the sick and there was hardly a home in that community but what he had visited. Henson, Golden, MO, was the informant. - Cassville Republican, September 10, 1914 - Lennie Henson, a 17 year old son of Wm. Henson, a merchant at Golden, shot and killed himself late Tuesday evening of last week at his father's home about one-half mile northeast of Golden. The sad incident occurred in the yard of the Henson home. The family's attention was called to the scene by hearing a discharge from a shot gun. Death was instantaneous, the shot taking its effect in the breast. Despondency is believed to have been the cause for the young man to take his life. We are informed that he left two notes hanging to a fence near his body. One of the notes was addressed to a girl of that vicinity with whom he was in love and the other was addressed to his father. We are not informed as to the contents of the notes. Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, 5 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and 10 sisters. She graduated high school in Beloit WI and attended art school in Chicago. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and playing cards. She was very active in the women's club at Emerald Beach, formerly sang in the choir at All Faith United Methodist Church in Eagle Rock, MO where she was a member. For many years she followed her Lutheran heritage at Community Lutheran Church in Eagle Rock. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband William Charles Bennett; second husband Donald Grant McLean; a son, Daniel Scott Bennett; a brother, Mickey Guetzke; and sisters Doris, Gwen, Pat, and Gloria.
