Research Note: She was the daughter of Carl and Agnes (Charles) Taggart. On October 18, 1987 she was united in marriage to R.H. Buck Lawson in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, who preceded her in death on January 28, 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents; three sons, Ricky, David and Gary Strickland and one brother, Gene Taggart. Janiece received her education in Carnegie, Oklahoma and was a 1949 high school graduate. For several years she was an office manager for Schmidt Construction in Miami, Oklahoma. In high school she was the state's leading scorer in basketball in 1948-1949. Thirty-four years ago she moved from Oklahoma to Exeter to make her home.
