Taking evening and summer classes, she also attended Monett Jr. College, Kansas City, KS Jr. College, Rockhurst College, Lincoln University (1976), Liberty College and University of MO (correspondence) workshops-50 hr. yearly. She taught in elementary schools for 60 years, including, McDonald County R-1, 1966-present (4, 5, 6 grades), Granby - 5th grade, Fairview - 5th Grade (1957), North K.C. (Davidson School, Englewood and Meadowbrook) - 5th grade, Quaker School in Barry Co. - Rural 1-8, Wheaton School - 5th grade (1950) and Henneman in Barry Co - Rural 1-8 (1946 - 1950). Among other achievements she was Bldgs. Rep for I.R.A. Local (Council); I.R.A. (State); Bldg. Rep. for years for M.S.T.A. MCCTA; Pres. for Barry Co Teacher's Assoc.; Young Author's Coordinator; served on the Curriculum Committee; was a mentor for teachers for several years; student teacher; presented several workshops; and updated course objectives. She received the McDonald County Teacher of the Year 1996-1997; McDonald County Teacher of the Month - 1997; Who's Who Among America's Teachers-1996; 50th year Plaque from Senate (Marvin Singleton); 50th year Plaque from Rep. (Sam Gaskill); 50th year Plaque from MSTA; Golden Apple Award-2002; and MSTA Lifetime Educator Award-2003. Amelia and William Lee Dody were married June 15, 1957 in Monett. SSW: Eugene S. - Research Note: Clara Heeter Dombroski, 77, of rural Monett, died at 7:30 a.m. July 13 at her home. Mrs. Dombroski was a homemaker and a dairy farmer. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church in Pulaskifield. She married Eugene S. Dombroski on July 3, 1948, and he preceded her in death August 3, 1998. Survivors include one son; two daughters; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Steve Dombroski, in 1969. Funeral Mass will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Monett Times

Joe enjoyed all things outside; hunting arrowheads, farming, antiquing, splitting wood, and playing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed antique shops and auctions. He also collected coins. Joe enjoyed Rock n Roll music and visiting with family and friends. He'll be missed by many! Surviving are the following: two sons; one daughter; two sisters; nine grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding him in death include his parents and a brother, Steve.
