CELUSNIAK, Maryjana | 1842 Galicya, Poland |
Dec. 19, 1899 | Research Note: Polish transcription by Great Granddaughter Michele Rosewitz: "Here Rests in Saintly Memory Maryjana Celusniak, Born in Galicya Counts, 57 Years, Her Life Ended On the Day of 19 December, Year 1899, Lord Save Her Soul" - Notes by Michele: The spelling of her name is Marianna (in Polish) and not Maryjana (in English) like it has on the headstone. Apparently, the family wanted it spelled Maryjana. Her husband was Stanislaus Celusniak. (The Polish spelling of the last name is Czelusniak, and it's my guess that Stanley used Celusniak so people could pronounce the name in English.) Stanley's death certificate says he was born in 1824 in Austria, age 102. Died Jan. 20, 1926 in Britton, OK. Parents not named. Mrs. Maggie Zielny (daughter) of Britton, OK was the informant. Place of burial was Harrah, OK. The Celusniak/Czelusniak's are on my dad's (Henry Rosewitz) maternal line. Sophia Anna Celusniak (1887-1979) was my dad's mother. She was married to Joseph Rosewitz (1882-1965), son of Thomas Rosewitz and Anna Jaster Rosewitz. See Thomas Roschevitz in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery for more information. - Another Photo | Transcription Notes Photo Michele Rosewitz Book-Past & Present Frank Hatton Photo Jim Pierce |
