Text | Mrs. Mollie Pilant, 78, a life-long resident of Casssville area, died at 5 a.m. Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Beason of Cassville. Mrs. Pilant had been in ill health for several years. She was a member of the Cassville Church of Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Myrl Coatney of Fairview, Mrs. Clifford Keeling of Joplin, Mrs. Paul Wieland of Carterville, and Mrs. Beason; two sons, Arthur Pilant of Dallas, Texas, and Lt. Col. Lewis Pilant serving with the Army in Germany; a brother, Harve Lowe of Cassville; a sister, Mrs. Fannie Bradley of Cassville and 34 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Culver Chapel as Cassville with Rev. Ab Edie and Rev. Paul Watson officiating. Burial was in the Pilant Cemetery under direction of Culver's.
