May 31, 2023 Veterans Health Care System of The Ozarks, Fayetteville, Benton Co., AR |
Research Note: Son of James "Jim" and Willa (Davis) White. On July 7, 2007 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas he was united in marriage to Shirley Pendergraft, who survives. Also surviving are his parents; one son; three daughters; two sisters and eight grandchildren. Kenny spent most of his youth in Green Forest, Arkansas graduating from Green Forest High School in 1970. He immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1970 until 1994. Following combat training and Aircraft Electrician School, he was deployed to Thailand and Japan where he worked on F-4 airplanes. He would later train to work on F-18s and be stationed in Hawaii. While there that he received orders to be among the first troops to serve in Bahrain as part of Operation Desert Storm. In 1991 he was transferred to New Orleans where he was promoted to Master Sergeant and worked on Huey helicopters. After retiring from the military, Kenny moved to Northwest Arkansas to be close to family. For 15 years he was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier in Fayetteville, Arkansas. For the past 17 years Kenny called Cassville his home, but his and Shirley's farm west of Washburn was where he enjoyed being the most, raising their herd of cattle. When not found there, he was likely out visiting with or helping someone, riding his motorcycle, gardening, going to the shooting range, or out on a boat at Table Rock Lake. When the kids and grandkids visited, they could always count on him making a big batch of pancakes and chili. He loved life and will be sorely missed.
