The Tate family researchers have her birth year as 1859 and the death date, July 1, 1880, which is a little different from what the stone has inscribed on it. Research Note: Jimmie Lee Taylor, 69, of Ocala, Florida,formerly of Rogers, died June 16, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born August 16, 1940, in Seligman, Missouri, to the late Lee Roy Taylor and Mildred (Priest) Taylor. He was a member of Celebration Church in Ocala, FL and House of God in Rogers. He was a printer and worked in construction for many years. He enjoyed landscaping, traveling and especially playing the guitar and singing. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and David Taylor and one sister, Tena Duvall. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Taylor; two daughters; step-daughter of Bristow, OK and step-son of Bonney Lake, WA; two sisters, Mary Laughlin of Tulsa, OK and Juanita O'Hara of Monett, Missouri. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Rollins Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Lisa Schroeder officiating. Burnett was called to the bedside of her mother, Mrs. Polly Weston, Sunday after Christmas near Beaver, Ark., at the home of her son, John Weston. Aunt Polly fell and broke her hip. We learned from Mr. Burnett this morning, Monday that she is no better. This is a great misfortune as she is quite old. - Cassville Republican - Mrs. Polly Weston, an aged and highly respected citizen, died Wednesday night, Feb. 7, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elijah Burnett, near Washburn, of pneumonia, aged about 82 years. Mrs. Weston had been an invalid for over a year caused by a fall, which had broken one of her hips. She was the widow of the late Simon Weston and for years lived in the Pasley neighborhood south of Cassville. She was the mother of James Weston, residing south of Cassville, Henry and Mrs. Elijah Burnett of Washburn, Marion of Oklahoma, Andy of Uniontown, Kan., Walter living northwest of this city, John, William, Kelley and Mrs. Polly Yearns of Arkansas. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Burnett near Washburn by Rev. J. T. Brattin of this city and the remains were taken to the Roller Cemetery for interment. - Cassville Democrat - Washburn Prairie News: Aunt Polly Weston died Wednesday, Feb. 7th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. A. Burnett at Washburn. She died of heart trouble and pneumonia but she had been an invalid for the past year as a result of a fall that broke her hip. She was converted when young and united with the Baptist church. She leaves to mourn her death nine sons and two daughters. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. T. Research Note: Son of Albert Newton and Virginia (Beggs) Willson. He attended schools in IL and AR before graduating from Sheboygan High School (WI) in 1943, after which he immediately enlisted in the Army Air Corps to serve during WWII. After his discharge in 1946, he worked several jobs before enrolling in Wheaton College (IL) for two years, then returned to Siloam Springs, AR, where he worked in the machine shop at John Brown University. It was in Siloam Springs that he met and married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) McIver, on June 8, 1952. He graduated from JBU in 1955. In the 1960s, John worked at Rocketdyne in Neosho, MO, where rocket engines were built and tested for the NASA space program. After leaving Rocketdyne, he became an advocate of voluntary unionism and worked with the National Right to Work Committee, serving on the Board of Directors for many years. John taught at the Vocational-Technical School of Crowder College in Neosho for over 20 years, teaching machine tool technology to high school and college students. After retirement, he continued to work part-time with local machine shops. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and watching Razorbacks basketball and football. As an involved father of five, he enjoyed reading, teaching, and playing with his children. The family enjoyed picnicking any month of the year, and summertime tent camping and swimming at Beaver Lake. In addition to his family, John's greatest passion in life was teaching Scripture. Ordained by Prison Mission Association, he served as a volunteer prison chaplain at the Newton County jail for over 50 years and pastored two small country churches. He published several articles on theology and wrote and graded lessons for Grace Bible Courses. He also corresponded with thousands of students, most of them prisoners, from numerous states and foreign countries. In 2018, after a total of 55 years living in Neosho, John and Betty moved to Monett, MO. John was preceded in death by his parents; his older sister, Barbara Willson; three younger brothers, Don, Fred, and Paul Willson; and one grandson, Adam Lee Willson.
