On December 9, 1874 she was married to R. M. Reed. To this union was born eight children, four boys and four girls, three of whom had gone on before. Besides a husband and sister she is survived by five children who are: Mrs. A. P. Montgomery of Okmulgee, Ok.; Robert Lee Reed of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; Lattie C. Reed of Wheaton; J. W. Reed and Mrs. Henry Duncan of Exeter. She was converted early in life, later joining the Baptist church at Rocky Comfort of which she was a member at death. Research Note: He went to sleep peacefully, surrounded by those he loved. He was welcomed at the gates of Heaven by his Father and Mother, Lawrence and Myrtle Ridenour; Brother Dennis Ridenour; and two infant grandchildren, Aspen and Dillon. Born the second son of six children on June 11, 1955 in Belleville, IL. Kenny was undoubtedly the feistiest member of the Ridenour family. He didn't back down from a challenge and wasn't scared of a full day's work. Mr. Ridenour served in the United States Army from 1973-1976. During his military service he spent a tour in Germany. A skilled craftsman and business owner, Kenny operated Ridenour's Masonry. He left his mark all over Southwest Missouri and his handiwork can be seen throughout the region. SSW: Myrtle M. - Research Note: Born the third son of nine children, to Thomas Hobert Ridenour and Lydia Ann Thomas. He passed peacefully in the house he built with his two hands, the home he fortified with faith and love. A true patriot, Lawrence served his country valiantly during World War II in the United States Army. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded by an instrument of war, Bronze Star for heroic and meritorious achievement, and the Army medal for Good Conduct. Lawrence married his Queen, Myrtle Mae Ridenour, on September 21, 1946 in Belleville, IL. The two celebrated nearly 66 years together. Myrtle preceded her best friend to Heaven in 2012 and undoubtedly had their mansion prepared with supper on the table, warm sleepers waiting, and all the "beauty spots" ready to explore. The two are now dancing together again on the streets of gold. Lawrence and Myrtle raised six children; sixteen grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Never scared of hard work or too proud to provide for his family, he often worked multiple jobs to ensure everyone was taken care of. K." - Research Note: Son of John Randolph Robinson and Martha Katherine Dillman. - Wheaton Journal, March 30, 1923 - Charlie Lee Robinson was born April 30, 1898 in Lee County, Virginia and died at his home near Fairview, Mo., March 24, 1923, after an illness of two weeks, of pneumonia. He came to Missouri in the fall of the year 1913 where he took an active part in school life. After passing the elementary grades he entered the Rocky Comfort High School and graduated in 1919. While a student he was converted at a revival meeting held at the M. E. Church at Wheaton, Mo. By Rev. Thompson. In the fall of 1917 he united with the M. E. Church at this place and has been engaged with the work of the Master since that time. He took an active part in Sunday school work and all that was for the upbuilding of Gods kingdom. He entered the profession of teaching in 1918, attending the Springfield Normal School at intervals. At the time he became ill he was principal of the Wanda school at Wanda, Mo. He tried to be a force for good in the different communities in which he taught courageously standing for and upholding those things that were for the moral, educational and spiritual benefit of the community. Charlie has two sisters who preceded him to the Great Beyond. He leaves to mourn, his father, mother, one sister, four brothers, and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 25th. They were conducted by Rev. Geo. Ellis and Rev. E. C. She attended and graduated from business school in Tyler, Texas. She married Jack Rogers, in Duncan, OK, on July 18, 1948. After her children were all in school, Betty went to work at Immanuel Baptist Church in 1962 as the secretary and worked there for ten years ending in 1972. She then went to work part-time at Signal Oil Company for two years and then part-time for the Stephens County Treasurer's Office for three years. They lived in Duncan until Jack retired from Halliburton after 35 years and moved to Rocky Comfort, Missouri in April 1977. She was one of the founding members for the McDonald County Rural Water Board and served for 4 years on the board. Betty worked for the U.S. Post Office for 19 years total with the last 9 years as the Postmaster in Wheaton, Missouri. Jack died in Missouri on July 16, 1989 after being married for 41 years. She was a widow for nine years until she met Virgil Flaxbeard and they were married on September 5, 1998.
