Mr. Farley was born in Johnson County on May 22, 1859, the eighth son of Eliga and Mary Farley. He moved with his parents to Pettis County when a small boy and grew to manhood in the Lookout community, where he joined the Lamine Baptist Church. Willett for the "Word and Way" Baptist publication about 12 years ago. In the tribute, Mr. Willett spoke of the loyalty of Mr. Farley as a member of the association. He stated that at the time the Harmony Baptist Association was soon to hold its fifty-sixth annual session and Mr. Farley has missed but two of these sessions, once because of illness and another time because of high water. He stated that Mr. Farley had been an ordained deacon for over 40 years and that it was interesting to hear him tell of how he attended the association meetings on horseback, starting the day before in order to arrive in time for the opening hymn. Since that time, Mr. Farley had attended nine more association annual sessions. Besides his wife, Mr. Farley is survived by Earl J. Farley and Bert Farley, who were reared in his home, and a large number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at Sedalia Monday and services were also conducted at the Rocky Comfort Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. C. F. Siler of Cassville.
