Lucy stayed three weeks the last time she was here her and Ethel each have stayed about six weeks I wish you could see the twins the boy is a lot the largest they are both fair blue eyed sweet babies. Fern and Auddy is sweet too. Fern is the sweetest turned child I know of she can wait on Auddie just like a womman the day they left here was the first time I had been out on the ground. Auddy come to the door she saw me she said well pigie what are you doing. Poor old daddy he noticed all the children more than you would have thought he would but he would look so pitiful when a meal was ready he would go in and eat and tell them over everything he had eat then he would come in where I was and ask me if I had had any thing to eat. I would tell him I had, then he would tell me what he had eat and he would look so pitiful I know he did not think or realize that there was much the matter with me. You spoke of the funeral expences I don't know what the Dr. bill will be. Kusell was gone away to a training camp and we had Dr. Cardwel. We all was sorry Kusell was away ma said tell you that Brother Bratten was her choice too preach the funeral. Ollie and Will, I thank you a thousand times for the 25 you sent. Ollie you have never failed to do your part any where you don't know how much good it does me to hear the good words you and Nola writes to me god bless you both and your entire families. I love you both dearly and would do any thing I could for you. You and Will is all that has sent any thing since daddy died, the 25. I am going very slow I have sit up more the last four days than I have since the last of May. I have never been without fever yet you know that doesn't sound good. I may wear it out but it sure won't take much more to get me. I haven't heard from Nola since Ethel wrote to Nola at the same time she did you. She may be sick. I look every day for a letter from her and it hasn't come yet. I got a letter from Ethel, they are well. She said she would come any time we wanted her but it is hard on them all for her to stay much. Too of her brothers is boarding with Ethel and Lester. Lucy said she thought she would come again before long. I suppose I wrote to you about Mags soninlaw dying last spring. ___ has a girl baby a week or too old. She has 4 children now. the Dr. and Mag has their hands full. June the 3rd I am sitting up in the bed trying to write I have been worse for the last too weeks. I had a letter from Lucy and Ethel they were all well. The twins are pulling up to things now. Ollie, ma said tell you she thought your pa looked as natural as any corps she ever saw. She said he looked like he did when he dressed to go to church. We all thought he looked natural. Dear ones I will close with lots of love hugs and kisses to all. - Mother To Willie Ollie and family. - Photo of Josiah Davidson Family | Census Death Certificate Ruth Kent Letter S. The death angels came and claimed her spirit Tuesday Dec. 19 after some two months of illness. She bore her sufferings with much patience and often said she was ready to go, her only regret being leaving her children. She was 72 years, 7 months and ? days old. She was married to John Davidson January 2, 1868, who preceded her to the great beyond March 26, 1921. She is survived by one brother L. G. C. Tichenor at the Baptist church at Rocky Comfort at 2:30 Wednesday Dec. 20 after which the remains were placed in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery. | Headstone Cheryl Obituary Marriage Records Ruth Kent Census Phyllis Long Photo Bill Utter |

DECOCQ, Wanna Jean | Oct. 3, 1944 Stella, Newton Co., MO |
May 5, 2018 | Research Note: She was the youngest daughter of Louie and Lora (Brattin) Decocq. Jeanie lived on the family farm her entire life, loving every minute of it. She graduated from Wheaton High School, spent most of her years of employment in manufacturing, retiring in 2011 after working at Miracle Playground in Monett her last nine years of employment. She was a member of the Wheaton Church of Christ and her greatest joy was teaching children's Bible classes. She loved children and found them most delightful, she loved and appreciated their sincere and honest little hearts and would often say, "If only adults could be just half as honest and sincere as a little child, what a wonderful world this would be." Her saddest time during her teaching years was when she lost her 8 year old little friend and student Brandon Thurston in the apartment fire on Thanksgiving Day-2012. Though her heart was broken she found comfort knowing he was safe in the arms of Jesus. She always encouraged her class in order to have "JOY" in their lives, the recipe was putting Jesus first-Others second-Yourself last. She was known for her sense of humor and positive attitude, she shared this thought with many, "Your attitude will determine your altitude, it will either take you up or take you down." Her favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 17:22 "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Her favorite songs were the "Ave Marie", "The Lord's Prayer" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." She loved poetry, her favorite poems were "The Day's Results", "Others" and "The Prayer St. Francis of Assisi." She requested a copy of each of these be included in her memorial folder to share with each of you. | McQueen Funeral Home Phyllis Long |

SSW: George C. - Research Note: Her death certificate reads that she was widowed and that James Riley Kelley, born TN, as her father and not known for her mother's name (her mother was Mary Ann Randel). A. M. Duncan, Wheaton, MO, was the informant. - Wheaton Journal, January 18, 1938 - Wheaton Loses Old-Time and Highly Respected Citizen - Nancy J. Kelley was born in Tennessee, November 30, 1850, and departed this life January 9, 1938 at her home in Wheaton, age 87 years, 1 month and 9 days. When a little girl she moved with her parents to Missouri. She was one of a family of thirteen children – four girls and nine boys. All except G. R. Kelley, A. W. Kelley, and one sister, Mollie Kimbrough, preceded her in death. The sister having lived with her since her husband passed away which was on March 8, 1930. At the early age of sixteen years she was converted at the Prosperity Baptist Church at Rocky Comfort and united with this Church. All who knew her give their willing witness that she has ever been a loyal and faithful member of her church. Her home was always a preachers home, and in her declining years one of her common regrets was the fact that she could not care for the preachers as she once did. She was united in marriage to G. C. Duncan, January 5, 1870, at the age of 19 years. To this union was born four children, two girls and two boys. They are Mrs. U. S. Davidson, Exeter, MO, A. M. Duncan, Wheaton, MO, Mrs. D. B. Ellis, Oklahoma City, Okla., and J. O. Duncan, Wheaton, MO. All of whom were with her during her last illness, except Mrs. Ellis, who has been sick for some time and was unable to attend the funeral. She leaves to mourn her passing the two sons and two daughters, two brothers, one sister, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Besides her relatives she leaves a multitude of loyal friends who will sadly miss her, but all know that the world has been made better because of the sermon which she has constantly preached by her devoted Christian life. And those who knew her believe and are sure that she has gone to enjoy that abundant life wit all its attendant blessings, in the Celestial City, which God has promised to all those who love and honor Him. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 11 at the Rocky Comfort Baptist Church by Rev. Luther Carlin, Rev. J. W. Hazel and Rev. W. P. Richardson. Burial was made in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Pogue’s Funeral Home. - Another Photo - Another Photo - Back of Stone | Headstone Cheryl Death Certificate Donna Cooper Online Obit Phyllis Long Photo Jay Trace Photos Bill Utter |
