May 30, 1918, Cassville Repbulican Mrs. Wayne Wormington and little son, Ermol, of near Monett, visited Cassville relatives Saturday and Sunday. Monett Times, January 22, 2001 Ermol Floyd Wormington was age 87 and of Purdy, MO. He died at 5:30 p.m. January 20 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield following a brief illness. Mr. Wormington was born June 3, 1913, in Monett, the son of Walter and Edna Columbia (Meador) Wormington. A lifelong resident of the Monett and Purdy areas, he was a retired carpenter and a member of the First Baptist Church in Purdy. He married Hazel Ruth Linebarger on June 26, 1938, in Purdy, and she survives. Additional survivors include one son, Mike Wormington of Purdy; one daughter, Linda Pierce of Purdy; one brother, Rayburn Wormington of Purdy; four grandchildren, Travis Wormington, Newton Pierce, Lucinda Formaz, and Tressie Wormington; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Elborn Wormington. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, at the First Baptist Church in Purdy with Rev. Tony Martin officiating. Burial will be in Purdy Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, January 23, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Purdy Cemetery or New Site Cemetery. Monett Times, January 26, 2001 Funeral services for Ermol Floyd Wormington, 87, of Purdy, who died January 20, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, at the First Baptist Church of Purdy with Rev. Tony Martin officiating. Music for the service included How Great Thou Art, and I Won't Have To Cross Jordan Alone. Soloist was Morris Henderson, accompanied by Virginia Dochterman. Pallbearers were Gene Francisco, Arthur Magnin, Newton Pierce, Charlie Garrison, Travis Wormington, and David Bennett. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Kenney, Lee Goodnight, Jerry Harter, and Alfred Magnin. Burial was in Purdy Cemetery under the direction of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett.
